Junior Chambers International Philippines or JCI has released their annual list awardees for The Outstanding Young Men Awards or TOYM 2017.

TOYM was launched in 1959 and was patterned from the TOYM America Awards–whose goal is to give national recognition to young men and women who are dedicated to their profession or vocation and have greatly contributed to their community.

According to Hegem Furigay, JCI’s 2017 National President, “…this award acknowledges the excellence of the young Filipinos in various fields like Agricultural & Aquaculture, Arts, Banking, Business, Community Development, Sports, Economics, Education, Government Service, Journalism, Law, Literature, Medicine and Science & Technology.”

He adds that through this, “JCI Philippines aims to inspire more young Filipinos to dream and be better.”

He also encourages even to look at their peers because they could possibly be they next TOYM awaardees.

Disston Tan, TOYM 2017’s National Chairman also notes that the awardees “are the modern-day heroes whose selfless acts in their chosen fields have been driven not by awards or money, but for the greater value of service and purpose.”

This year’s TOYM theme is “United in Purpose Towards Nation Building”.
